Austin Coffee Fest was so fun. I would definitely go back another year. I love coffee. I’m definitely not a coffee expert, because I know those coffee experts go hard with the weighing, and the special water spout, and a bunch of other things that I’m sure I’m unaware of. But while I’m not a coffee expert, I do know which notes I like (earthy—if it has fruity notes, I’m out because it tastes a little bitter to me). I grind my beans and make pour-over everyday, with an occasional moka pot.

Anyways, Austin Coffee Fest was so fun because it was so unique. I had never heard of anything where I can just walk around and try coffee. What really caught me off guard was how fast the coffee buzz hit. It’s not like we were sampling espresso, and I drink coffee everyday. And the samples at each booth were just in these little mouthwash cups. But after the second station, I was BUZZIN.
So after the second station, I had to implement a one-sip rule. One sip per station because I’m there to sample, and sample I must, without getting a heart attack.
I’m honestly writing this blog post months and months after I went, so I don’t remember specifics in terms of which coffees I like and which booths were my favorite. But if going to Austin coffee fest has ever piqued your interested, I highly recommend!
