One hot, one iced

Hot almond milk latte on a cafe table
two versions of the same drink

Okay, so I sometimes like to do this thing when I try a new coffee shop, I get 2 versions of the same drink — one hot drink and one iced. And I always get the same drink, almond milk latte, or latte with almond milk, however I feel like phrasing it that day.

i like how it saves me time and future thought 😅

Now, you may be wondering: why would one do this? Well, iced and hot taste different to me. A location may have a great hot latte, but their iced latte may not be so great. And sometimes I would rather find out in the moment if this location is a location I can trust for both my hot and iced needs, without making 2 trips (I’m literally cracking up as I write this because I know it sounds ridiculous)

maybe I should switch to iced cortados 🧐

I’ve found that most places usually have a pretty decent hot latte. But it’s the iced latte that usually doesn’t hit for me. There’s just too much milk for me in the smallest size (because you know how the smallest size for an iced latte is usually larger than the smallest size for a hot latte). As I’m writing this, I’m like…do they make iced cortados? I just had this epiphany that I should probably be ordering a different iced drink, one that has less milk than a latte 😱. Dang. Sometimes writing things out and/or talking things out really is the answer

One hot and one iced almond milk latte from La La Land
La La Land: This picture breaks my one hot, one iced rule as this wasn’t the first time I had la la land. I got an iced matcha latte and a hot almond milk latte. But best believe, in my first trips to la la, trying a hot and iced almond milk latte was a top priority.
